Xeomin (incobotulinumtoxinA) is an injectable neuromodulator made from botulinum toxin type A. It's used both cosmetically (to reduce facial wrinkles) and medically (for certain muscle and nerve-related conditions). Like Botox, it works by temporarily relaxing targeted muscles.

A unique feature of Xeomin is that it's often called the "naked neurotoxin" because it contains the active toxin without the accessory proteins found in some competing products.

How Does Xeomin Work?

Nerves normally release a chemical called acetylcholine, which tells muscles to contract. Xeomin blocks the release of this chemical at the injection site, causing the targeted muscle to relax temporarily. As the muscle stops contracting as strongly, wrinkles soften and certain muscle-spasm conditions improve.
